How Founder's frustration led to small business digital revolution.
Gatsboy began in 2018 when Chris Nutbeen set out to solve a problem he kept seeing over and over again: small business owners were being sold websites that looked fine, but delivered little to no real commercial value.
Website builders promised simplicity, but in practice they left people stuck — spending hours tweaking layouts, guessing at content, and launching sites with no clear strategy for growth. For time-poor business owners, the result was frustration, wasted effort, and missed opportunity.
Gatsboy was created to change that.
From the start, the goal was simple: build a better way for small businesses to use their website as a growth tool, not just an online brochure. That meant focusing on clarity, systems, and outcomes — not just drag-and-drop convenience.
